The CloudWinds Woodwind Trio Performs in the St Cloud, Central Minnesota Area for Recitals, Church Services, Weddings, Funerals, Receptions & Private Parties

When you have a special event, you want to make it very unique, engaging and memorable. Nothing says special as much as live classical music, tailored to your event and played beautifully! The CloudWinds Trio has the kind of music that can meet your desire to have a memorable and successful event. We perform in recitals, church services, weddings, funerals, receptions, and private parties.

In addition to classical music written for a woodwind trio, we also perform arrangements of more familiar music. Because I do music composing and arranging, I can arrange music that you wish to have for your event. I recently did an arrangement for our trio for a wedding in which the bride requested an arrangement of the Lana Del Rey version of “Once Upon A Dream.” This was performed as part of the wedding ceremony. We can do put together and perform arrangements of songs and music that you are especially fond of too!

The Musicians of the CloudWinds Woodwind Trio

Cloud Winds Woodwind Trio was formed in January 2018,. Current members are Tom Gaetz, (clarinet, bass clarinet, and soprano saxophone), Debra Berglund, (flute), and me, (bassoon, saxophones, and recorders). We are a group of highly trained and experienced musicians who love to play chamber music together.

Deb Berglund has performed many solo concerts, as well as performing with Windsong Flute Trio, and Fantasia Flute Duet.  She has studied with Paul Jacobson from the Lyra Baroque Orchestra. Deb currently is employed at Rasmussen College.

Tom and I have played duets over many years. Tom attended St. Johns University pursuing a degree in Music. Tom play 1st clarinet with the Amadeus Chamber Symphony and clarinet and bass clarinet with the St Cloud Symphony Orchestra. Tom is the owner of his contracting business focused on high-quality remodeling and renovation.

I attended St. Johns University and finished my BA degree in music at St. Cloud State University. I also studied music composition for an academic year at the University of Minnesota under music composition professor Alex Lubet, Ph.D. My primary career is in psychotherapy and business consulting in my own private practice.

How the CloudWinds WoodWind Trio is Organized as a St Cloud & Central Minnesota Performance Ensemble

We Have 4 Organizing Principles

  1. To play interesting chamber music for a variety of audiences including traditional chamber music concerts, weddings and funerals, religious services and anywhere an audience might appreciate chamber music. This, of course, includes pubs!
  2. To play newly composed music from living composers including my own music
  3. To play on a large variety of instruments, mixing up all the different instruments we play for to create unique and varied sound colors
  4. To go up and down in the number of players so we may play solos, duets, trios and add other musicians to play wind quintets

We performed our first chamber music recital on Friday, May 4th, 2018 at the Unitarian/Universalist Fellowship (3226 Maine Prairie Rd. St. Cloud, MN).  We were joined by Richard Dirlam, saxophones and Doug Duea on Piano and our music was enthusiastically received by our wonderful audience members.

In October of 2018 we performed for a large outdoor wedding prior to, during and immediately after the ceremony. We heard many positive comments by wedding guests and members of the wedding party regarding our part of the wedding.

We did music for the Christmas Eve. service at St. Mary’s Cathedral in downtown St. Cloud.

In January and again in June of 2019, we provided music for a service at Celebration Lutheran Church in Sartell, MN.

We performed a recital at the Onamia, MN library in April 2019

We are scheduled to perform a recital on November 15, 2019 at St. Johns Episcopal Church in St. Cloud, MN.
